Holy Prophet relations with Non muslims.

Islam never teaches us to hate non-Muslims. Can anyone prove that Muhammad (SAW) ever hated Abu Talib when he was alive? Can anyone prove that Muhammad (SAW) hated the Ahle Taif when they threw stones at him (in fact, the Prophet did dua for them)? Can anyone prove that the Prophet ever said anything against Abu Sufyaan (RA) when he was a non-Muslim? Prophet Muhammad (SAW) only showed anger and hatred towards those infidels who were bitterly against Islam, like Akramah Bin Abi Jahal etc. But he never hated those who were non-believers but did not participate in anything against Islam. As long as a non-Muslim is alive and he is not doing anything that comes under the category of ‘fighting or harming Islam’ then we should not hate him. This is what we know from the Sunnah of Muhammad (SAW).
But if a person dies on Kufr or Shirk then definitely we must hate him, according to the Sunnah of Muhammad (SAW) as he did with Abu Talib. The Qu’ran also tells us that we should show “beyzaari, baraat, displeasure” towards those persons who died on Shirk because upon their death, the door of Tauba is closed to them. But as long as a person is alive, we must respect him.
The Prophet (SAW) even showed respect for humanity’s sake to those individuals who died on Kufr:
It is narrated on the authority of Ibn Abu Laila that while Qais b. Sa’d and Sahl b. Hunaif were both in Qadisiyya a bier passed by them and they both stood up. They were told that it was the bier of one of the people of the land (non-Muslim). They said that a bier passed before the Holy Prophet (may peace be upon him) and he stood up. He was told that he (the dead man) was a Jew. Upon this he remarked: Was he not a human being or did he not have a soul? And in the hadith narrated by ‘Amr b. Murra with the same chain of transmitters, (the words) are:” There passed a bier before us.” (Sahih Muslim Book 004, Number 2098)
Jews were clear enemies of Muslims at that time, yet the Prophet (SAW) respected the bier of a Jew by standing up for the sake of humanity. (Was he not a human being? Did he not have a soul?)
And this is the advice Umar (RA) left for his successor:
………I recommend my successor to be good to the early emigrants and realize their rights and to protect their honor and sacred things. And I also recommend him to be good to the Ansar who before them, had homes (in Medina) and had adopted the Faith. He should accept the good of the righteous among them and should excuse their wrongdoers. I recommend him to abide by the rules and regulations concerning the dhimmis (protectees) of Allah and His Apostle, to fulfil their contracts completely and fight for them and not to tax (overburden) them beyond their capabilities.” (Sahih Bukhari Book #23, Hadith #475) [Only the latter half of the hadith has been copied here]
We should dislike and hate wrong beliefs and teachings, not the person who holds those beliefs. A person will only be classed as an enemy of Islam if he actively starts damaging the cause of Islam or takes up fighting against Muslims. Unless he does that, we must, as Muslims, treat him with respect and justice.

Therefore we should be wary of how we act in according to other religions and try to be tolerant and unprejudiced towards other religions.

Women's right in Islam. 2

This video eloquently lays down what is the rights of women in Islam. The speaker manages to make a convincing argument in favor of Islam,. it  is a deeply eyeopening and insightful video.

Womens Right in Islam.

The issue of women's right in Islam has become an extremely contentious issue, more and more Islamic countries top the list of the most dangerous countries in the world. the western media, itself has also distort the facts to make Islam look like a misogynistic religion. these media sources refuse to take any considerations of cultural and ethical differences into mind and try to judge Muslims and Islam with a western lens. however, they must take the difference in ideal and historical background into mind to fully understand women's right in Islam, they also have to keep in mind the revolutionary position Islam had in relation to the rights of Islam during the time of its conception,

The Message.

The movie"The Message" is a 1976 film directed by Moustapha Akkad chronicling the life and times of Muhammad, the prophet of Islam. It very sensitively and artistically portrays the life of the holy Prophet and the advent of Islam. The movie doesn't fails to impress and serves as an example for all other movie to come that deal with religious purpose. In fact I believe this movie should be seen by all Muslims to fully grasp a sense of the trials and tribulations faced by our beloved prophet. It can also serve as a means to educate children and teach them the message of love and peace that Islam advocates.

What we can learn from the life and time of the last Prophet.

Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) delivered his last sermon (Khutbah) on the ninth of Dhul Hijjah (12th and last month of the Islamic year), 10 years after Hijrah (migration from Makkah to Madinah) in the Uranah Valley of mount Arafat. His words were quite clear and concise and were directed to the entire humanity.

After praising, and thanking Allah he said:
“O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and TAKE THESE WORDS TO THOSE WHO COULD NOT BE PRESENT HERE TODAY.
O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your LORD, and that HE will indeed reckon your deeds. ALLAH has forbidden you to take usury (interest), therefore all interest obligation shall henceforth be waived. Your capital, however, is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer any inequity. Allah has Judged that there shall be no interest and that all the interest due to Abbas ibn ‘Abd’al Muttalib (Prophet’s uncle) shall henceforth be waived…
Beware of Satan, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.
O People, it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under Allah’s trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with any one of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste.
O People, listen to me in earnest, worship ALLAH, say your five daily prayers (Salah), fast during the month of Ramadan, and give your wealth in Zakat. Perform Hajj if you can afford to.
All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves.
Remember, one day you will appear before ALLAH and answer your deeds. So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.
O People, NO PROPHET OR APOSTLE WILL COME AFTER ME AND NO NEW FAITH WILL BE BORN. Reason well, therefore, O People, and understand words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the QURAN and my example, the SUNNAH and if you follow these you will never go astray.
All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me directly. Be my witness, O ALLAH, that I have conveyed your message to your people”.
(Reference: See Al-Bukhari, Hadith 1623, 1626, 6361) Sahih of Imam Muslim also refers to this sermon in Hadith number 98. Imam al-Tirmidhi has mentioned this sermon in Hadith nos. 1628, 2046, 2085. Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal has given us the longest and perhaps the most complete version of this sermon in his Masnud, Hadith no. 19774.)

One can heed words of wisdom and guidelines from the last sermon (khutbah) of the prophet (SAWS). His sermons emphasized on the following:
  • Sacredness of a Muslim’s life and property
  • The importance of propagating this message to all others (A Muslim’s responsibility thus does not end by following the religion)
  • A reminder that everyone is fully accountable for their deeds and Allah (God) will take every person into account. If everyone heeded to this fact alone, the world would be a much better place today.
  • “Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you.” These words of the prophet are self explanatory.
  • The prohibition of dealing with interest (Numerous accounts in Quran and Hadith prohibit taking, giving or being a part of any transaction dealing with interest).
  • “You will neither inflict nor suffer any inequity.” These words of the prophet are self explanatory.
  • The awareness of Satan and how Satan can work to deviate us from the right path and doing evil things.
  • Rights of women over men and rights of men over women.
  • Treatment of women with kindness.
  • Modesty and chastity in women.
  • The importance of worshiping Allah (saying your five daily prayers (Salah), fasting during the month of Ramadan, giving charity (Zakat) and performing pilgrimage (Hajj).
  • Equality amongst all (blacks, white, Arabs, non-Arabs, etc.)
  • The need to establish justice.
  • Islam is the final divine religion (Last prophet and Last Book).
